I earned my MBA Degree from Florida Metropolitan University in Ft. Lauderdale in 1999. Now, at 41, I want to get the MBA of my dreams: the Executive MBA at XXXX. A cosmopolitan African-American businessman, I speak fluent Japanese as well as French. I was raised in Michigan and completed my BS Degree in International Business at the University of Alabama. One year later, I earned my Certificate in Japanese Law and Culture at Chiba University in Japan.

I recognise that this age in which knowledge of other cultures, peoples and attitudes is almost instantly available, there exist unique opportunities and challenges that are entirely new in the world of diplomacy and I want to be a part of a ‘new diplomacy’ that will be required to fully exploit this situation and to identify and overcome its challenges.

The MA Program in International Affairs at XXXX University’s XXXX School is my first choice for a variety of reasons, especially the fact that your program has an Africa Track, allowing me to focus much of my studies on my continent of origin, Africa. I hope to return to Africa as a professional diplomat at some point after earning my Master’s Degree. I look forward to developing a cutting-edge grasp on the issues that affect Africa and how they are grounded in history. I app

First and foremost, I am a human being who places top priority on the welfare of women and children, the sustenance of our species and our planetary home. But I am also a man, black, and gay, in that order. As a philosopher of society, I am concerned with oppression, marginalization, injustice, and discrimination against minority groups. These days, I am especially proud to belong to a largely white society that has chosen a black man to be its leader. I have more confidence

In terms of my research plans, I am particularly interested in educational development for children, particularly girls’ primary or basic education in developing countries. Additionally, I want to examine how the development of girls’ education can impact communities, regions and even nations as a whole. Geographically, I will be focusing on India, China, and Sub-Saharan Africa.

Multilingual Nigerian woman with UK and French academic background, passionate about gender equity, human rights, and African development. With experience at the UN, BBC, and ECOWAS, I’ve led regional migration policy reforms and co-founded a cancer awareness NGO. I seek to advance inclusive policy and social justice through graduate studies in International Affairs and Gender & Development

I am a Canadian woman of French heritage and I am currently based in Paris at the Canadian Embassy and living in Toronto at the moment as part of a three month mission. I speak and write fluent English, French, Spanish and Italian. I am learning Russian and can speak the language. I intend to commence Arabic language classes in the spring. As a small child, I loved maps. This interest developed into a curiosity about the differences and similarities in the way people in the

“The word needs dreamers and the world need doers. But above all, the world needs dreamers who do.” Sarah Ban Breathnach. I am a 24 year old Bolivian woman and live in Ottawa. Coming as I do from a developing nation, I realize, perhaps more than most people, the importance of equal opportunities. I hope, one day, to be involved in designing policies that will enhance opportunities for Bolivians who are disadvantaged, especially the most excluded and vulnerable among them an

I am a 22-year-old Somali man who was born in Connecticut and raised in many different countries, the Ivory Coast, Cairo-Egypt, Rome-Italy, and Nairobi-Kenya, in addition to Somalia. My first language is English but I am also fluent in French and Somali. My Italian is rusty and my Arabic needs a lot of work. My short term goal is to give my all to your program. My long term goal is to everything that I can to help the Developing World, especially Africa. With my multinational

I was raised in Armenia until the age of 14 and then lived in Russia for one year. At 15, I immigrated with my family to the USA. I began learning both English and Russian as a small child; thus, I am a near-native speaker of both languages. What I want most for my professional future is to help the republics of the former USSR, especially my native Armenia, to develop economically, have greater respect for human rights, and make increasing progress towards a fuller participa

I became fully convinced that Translation Studies at XXXX University was my first choice for graduate school when I learned that your curriculum includes a class in Turkish. English is my second best of 4 languages after my native Turkish; translation is my field. A young woman from Istanbul, my parents are well-educated and have always been most keen to talk about Turkish affairs and interests, especially international business

As a child, I loved maps. This interest developed into a curiosity about the differences and similarities in the way people in these different places on the map lived, ate, spoke and earned their livelihoods. This awareness of the world and its variety has increased with time and with the substantial travelling that I have done. I have not, until recently, considered directing this passion into a formal course of study but now strongly wish to do so. My ultimate goal is to

I have long been sensitive to the need for black male role models, and I have tried to become one. I find my greatest joy in my service as a member of United Methodist Men. We do various types of volunteer projects to assist the community, such as food drives, assisting the elderly and mentoring youth students. I have worked for the Federal Government in various capacities now for the last 20 years. In the beginning, I had a share in the maintenance of our nuclear weapon syst

MA, International Relations, Africa, Diplomacy Still only 22, I am a young woman originally from Ghana who has worked very hard to arrive at this point where I am ready to begin graduate school here in the USA. Enormously dedicated to the study of both International Relations and language, I put a lot of extra effort in fulfilling the requirements for an undergraduate degree in French as well as IR. Of course, looking forward to a long and productive future doing researc

We never forget where we come from, our humble beginnings and the people who light the fire of creativity, spirit and drive in our hearts. Growing up in Alabama, most of the men in my family were incarcerated at differing times. I prided myself in being a loner, yet always looking up with great respect to my parents, never forgetting that it was their sacrifices, and their encouragement that enabled me to become the first person in my family to obtain an undergraduate degree.

Being awarded the Thomas R. Pickering Fellowship will enable me to pursue my foremost passion, public service and the geopolitics of clean energy, so that I will be able to make my maximum contribution to society after earning the Master’s Degree, working for a government organization promoting clean energy, especially in Africa. Thus, I am well poised to excel in a critical area of global public service, promoting clean energy in the most sustainable way possible, by fosteri

I am a friendly and outgoing person always getting along easily with others. I have happily studied, worked, and socialized with people from many cultural, ethnic, and social backgrounds. I enjoy learning about new cultures and sharing knowledge of my own. I am confident that my background, experiences, and academic studies to date will enable me to ‘add value’ to the program.

In the future, I hope to become a political officer at the UN or hold a managerial position within an NGO, contributing to the efforts for peace. Either path would allow me to act as an agent of change in human rights and international conflict resolution.

I am most pleased to report that I have been published by our national newspaper on a variety of topics including social issues and our cultural heritage, as American election issues. I hope to distinguish myself in your program by my dedication to the subject of US involvement in Asian affairs and the role of the United States in maintaining a strategic balance among Asian countries
