MS Food Science Safety Personal Purpose Statement Saudi

I am from Saudi Arabia and currently work with the Saudi Food and Drug Authority. I have received a full academic scholarship to pursue my Master's degree in America. Raised in Riyadh, I hold a bachelor's degree in food science from King Saud University. My primary research interest lies in probiotic milk products. I take great pride in contributing to the protection of our food supply. My role as a Food Safety Specialist brings me immense pride and a strong sense of purpose. I am particularly eager to learn about global food safety issues, as there is much to learn and understand through comparative approaches to common food safety themes.

In 10 years, I aim to use the skills acquired from your program to enhance food protection and safety development in my country and engage in international issues. I aspire to achieve the highest level of sophistication in graduate education in Food Safety and believe I am an excellent fit for your advanced program. I look forward to applying the knowledge gained from your program to modernize and upgrade food safety in Saudi Arabia, ensuring consumer protection.

I have a special interest in marine food and have independently studied this area, including travel to England, Scotland, and Ireland. Some of my most rewarding professional experiences occurred during training with the EU Department of Agriculture at a border inspection post at the port of Dublin. I am eager to help Saudi Arabia align more closely with developed countries in food safety development, especially in marine food.

I began my professional journey with the Saudi Organization for Standardization, where I was primarily responsible for testing microbiological food, ensuring compliance with specifications, and enforcing standards. Since 01/04/2010, I have worked as a Food Safety Analyzer while completing my undergraduate coursework. With extensive laboratory experience in chemical and microbiological food research, I am now ready for graduate school and hope to pursue a master's degree in food science at your esteemed program.

My greatest strengths include maturity for my age and a strong work ethic. I feel a connection with developed countries like America and am eager to begin graduate school there, believing I have much to learn from American experiences in food science. I hope to contribute to Saudi Arabia's growth by studying in your program.

I appreciate your consideration of my application and kindly ask that, in evaluating my GPA, you consider that during the first two years of my undergraduate studies, I had to care for my ill mother, which affected my grades. Thus, my GPA from the last two years more accurately reflects my academic potential.
