'MS Bacteriology Thai: Personal Purpose Statement Example'

I grew up surrounded by animals and nature, raised by my grandparents in a remote area of rural Thailand. I communed with nature from an incredibly early age. Everything was alive to me. Thus, I chose to major in Biology upon entering XXXX University.

While in college I worked at an aquarium and in this way put myself through school. I was also an active participant of the Thai Astronomy Society and became a group leader in a little over a year. Upon graduation, I worked as a project assistant in a hematology lab at Ramathibodi Hospital. There, I learned a great deal about molecular techniques such as Electrophoresis and Western Blot. I moved to the USA after both of my grandparents passed away and their property was sold. I started working right away, long hours as a restaurant worker, store clerk, or factory worker. After a few years, I trained as a phlebotomist and got a job at XXXX Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin. Still driven by my dream to be a scientist, I enrolled in the Clinical Laboratory Technician Program at XXXX. While taking classes full time, I worked over 50 hours a week at night.

Having recently earned my BS in Clinical Laboratory Science with a minor in Chemistry from the University of XXXX, I now realize that I have the potential to become a world class scientist. I am determined to be successful despite having to study and work at the same time. I have learned to develop outstanding time management skills and even managed to earn a place on the Dean´s List for three semesters. I also tutored fellow students in basic chemistry. I enjoyed being a tutor because it gave me the opportunity to meet people and share my passion for science.

After graduating from the XXXX Technical College, I spent several years working in a micro-biology laboratory in the food sector, studying and analyzing bacteria, making media and reagents, setting up cultures, performing biochemical tests, and executing molecular and serological techniques. Even though I have kept busy working and studying full time, I have also spent many hours as a volunteer with the American Red Cross in Southeastern Wisconsin First Aid Service Team. We provide immediate, temporary care to people that become sick or injured at community events.

My volunteer work has been an essential aspect of my attainment of professional level communication and human relations skills in English. My time management skills and level-headed thinking paid off and I graduated from XXXX with University Commencement Honors; I was also honored by the American Society for Clinical Pathology. My long-term goal is to continue my education and become a teacher or researcher. I have the tools and determination to excel in increasingly challenging environments. I have a solid academic background in biology/chemistry, and I am always eager to learn. I have experience in the laboratory, and I work well with people from diverse backgrounds.

The greatest contribution that I might be able to make to society would be to teach biology and chemistry to the next generation. I want to show them that science is interesting and fun. Being accepted into your program would be a dream come true. I love the outdoors. In my free time, I am a star gazer.
