Architecture is frequently described as a continuous dialogue across generations throughout history. As a French national studying for a Bachelor of Science Degree at the Vienna University of Technology, I aspire to explore new architectural concepts. By integrating the accumulated wisdom from inherited structures with advancements in computer-generated technology, we can create a legacy of an innovative 21st-century world through the quality of our urban architecture.
The cities of the world have fueled my passion for architecture. Having traveled to various countries on different continents and being fluent in French, German, English, and Italian, I have a global perspective enriched with diverse insights from my experiences, which I aim to reflect in the buildings I contribute to as an architect.
My love for architecture began long before any formal education in the field and continues to grow daily. I vividly recall my first visit to the city of Palazzo, where I observed the fragility of ancient structures. Later, at Eike Becker Architects in Berlin, I gained exposure to various facets of architectural practice, including planning, design, and research. A noteworthy experience was participating in a new housing complex on the former Berlin Wall site.
During my internship at Delugan Meiss, I discovered the potential of new software in furniture development. Working at Sou Fujimoto in Japan, I learned about the process of idea development and the challenges of establishing an architectural identity. Attending international symposia, participating in global competitions, and developing concepts for the World Expo Shanghai (2010) and the Venice Biennale (2010), as well as visiting esteemed architectural firms like Bill Dunster and Alsop Architects in London, allowed me to appreciate urban design and further explore the discipline.
After graduating in July this year, I plan to pursue graduate studies in the Master of Architecture Program at ETH University. Alongside practicing architecture, my long-term goal is to establish an academic presence through publications and teaching at the tertiary level. I believe this program will offer the best opportunity to enhance my skills and knowledge, thanks to the caliber of students and faculty the University attracts.
I understand that a successful architect leads a balanced life; as a sports enthusiast who enjoys tennis and marathons, I find relaxation in playing jazz guitar. I also recognize the importance of sustainable development and am committed, alongside my brother, to humanitarian efforts in the Democratic Republic of Congo. My greatest contribution as an architect would be to design buildings that preserve the sights and sounds of the 21st century for future generations. I hope you will grant me this opportunity.
