As a young and ambitious accounting student from the United Arab Emirates, I am enthusiastic about pursuing Finance at XXXX to fulfill my aspiration of making a significant contribution to my country's financial sector. Sheikh Zayed, the revered founder and longtime leader of the Emirates, once remarked that our prosperity has taught us to build our nation through education and knowledge, fostering generations of educated individuals. Although he has passed, his philosophy of high achievement and relentless pursuit of excellence continues to inspire all Emirates. Attending the XXXX School of Economics would be a tremendous honor, as its reputation for academic excellence and professional success ensures I will receive a top-tier education from esteemed professors in the field.
The United Arab Emirates has undergone remarkable economic growth over the last 30 years, evolving from small desert communities into a vibrant, cosmopolitan modern state. Sustaining this growth requires the expertise and skills of committed professionals who seek deeper theoretical understanding while continuously improving practical administrative tools to benefit their nation. Given my intellectual abilities and academic achievements, I believe that to fully realize my potential and make the most impactful contribution to my society, I must pursue graduate studies, first earning a master's degree and eventually a doctorate.
After graduating at the top of my class from the International School of XXXX, considered the best high school in the UAE, I enrolled in XXXX University. Through perseverance and dedication, I have consistently been named to the Highest Honor roll each semester, and in 2007, I received the Award of Academic Excellence from the College of Business Administration at XXXX University for outstanding academic achievement. My current cumulative GPA is 3.95, and I plan to graduate in May 2008 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting.
For the past two years, I have also been a full-time undergraduate Geography student at the Université Paris Sorbonne, Abu Dhabi. This French-speaking institution attracts top students from the Middle East and beyond. While facing the challenge of studying in French, I have maintained a position in the top one percent of my class. During this period, I have enhanced my language skills and gained a deeper understanding of global issues. The school's focus on extensive essay writing has improved my scholarly research and critical thinking skills.
Although I have excelled academically at XXXX University and the Université Paris Sorbonne, I have also taken on leadership roles in various extracurricular activities. For example, I was an active member of the organizing committee for the Open Day 2005 at XXXX University. In addition to planning and organizing the event, I managed campus tours for visiting parents and students and coordinated communication with different organizations. My diverse skills and interests are further demonstrated by my receipt of a Film School Certificate for participating in the Hollywood Film Institute seminar. I have consistently shown myself to be reliable, punctual, and efficient, working independently and under pressure. I get along well with people from various societal levels, am ambitious, and always strive to take on higher challenges to improve myself personally and professionally.
As a female student from the Middle East, I bring a wealth of cultural, social, and academic experiences that will enable me to fit in and contribute to the international environment of the London School of Economics. I am well-traveled, having spent every summer vacation visiting places such as the United States, London, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Austria, Holland, Switzerland, Belgium, and Milan. I am also trilingual. In addition to my native Arabic and fluent English, I have achieved a high level of proficiency in French after spending extended periods in France.
I love to travel because it broadens one's perspective on the world, beauty, and diversity. I thoroughly enjoy discovering the diverse ways of life of people from various backgrounds. One of my reasons for applying to ____ is its reputation for international student and faculty bodies and the cultural diversity it fosters. Moreover, London is a vibrant, cosmopolitan city that will allow me to immerse myself in unfamiliar cultures, meet new people, and actively participate in an environment ripe for invaluable cultural exchanges of ideas and ideologies.
____’s focus on research-led teaching will give me the advantage of being at the forefront of theory and practice in international accounting and finance. This is especially crucial in the rapidly evolving economic landscape of the United Arab Emirates. In ten years, I envision myself in a top financial position with a financial consulting or accounting firm in my country. I also see myself working in the governmental sector and eventually starting my own international or financial consulting business.
I aim to be an example of the achievements and societal contributions that women in my field can make. Motivated by a sense of responsibility and gratitude towards my country, I plan to continue Sheikh Zayed's legacy by consistently performing at my best and demanding excellence from my surroundings, promoting a culture of professional excellence, ethical practice, and continuous innovation. I look forward to the educational challenges that ____ will present, knowing that my success in the MSc in Accounting and Finance program is crucial for becoming a successful professional in my field and pursuing further studies towards a PhD.
