As a 22-year-old woman born and raised in New York, I cherish my hometown and regard XXXX as the premier educational institution in NYC. I aspire to a long and fruitful career as a research professional in laboratories focused on utilizing biotechnology to address human needs in medicine, industry, and agriculture—areas that precisely define Columbia's program. I am requesting the opportunity to enroll in one or two graduate-level courses at Columbia to demonstrate my commitment and capability as an outstanding graduate student. Ultimately, my goal is to become a full-time student pursuing an M.A. Degree in Biotechnology.
I am confident in my ability to perform well, holding a B.S. in Biological Anthropology from George Washington University with a minor in Biology. I have completed pre-medical coursework and possess extensive professional experience in relevant fields. I am an extremely dedicated and hard-working student with a long-term focus on achieving professional success and contributing to scientific progress. As a strong advocate for high professional standards, I am committed to dedicating myself entirely to my studies at XXXX if given the chance. I am highly motivated to study and become a skilled biotechnology research professional, believing this is where I can make a significant contribution to humanity.
My primary goal is to leave a lasting impact as a research scientist, tackling the complex biotechnological challenges faced by modern society, which still requires innovative and productive scientific advancements. This is why I aim to dedicate my life to research in medicine, drug approval regulation, and the management and organizational issues related to healthcare and the production of food and medicine.
As a young Jewish woman, I have worked diligently throughout my life, continuously learning. I am fluent in Spanish, English, and Hebrew. I consider myself a global citizen, well-read and well-traveled, having spent significant time in China and Israel. This has given me a deep appreciation for diversity and cross-cultural harmony, bridging cultural gaps for the sake of scientific progress. A key aspect of my application to your program is my extensive professional and volunteer experience at XXXX Medical Center in NY, where I served as an Ambulatory Clinician intern with a special focus on Pediatric Hematology/Oncology. My dedication and perseverance in Anthropology and Archaeology were recognized by the International Scholar Laureate Program in China, where I worked on various archaeological sites throughout the country. This experience, in particular, has deepened my appreciation for diversity and cross-cultural communication.
