I am Turkish, born and raised in Istanbul, and I have a bachelor's degree in education from Marmara University. I am fluent in Turkish, English, and French. My goal is to pursue a degree in HR Management and become an HR Consultant.
I spent several years working for a private company, initially as a French Language teacher, before moving into administrative and management roles that included responsibilities for recruiting, training, and evaluating teaching staff. I quickly realized that the company lacked HR expertise, with problems such as staff dissatisfaction and poor job-role alignment needing attention. This led me to start learning basic HR concepts and techniques to address these issues. My success in assisting the company and its employees motivated me to delve deeper into HR informally, fueling my growing interest in the field. I understood that poor HR management not only affects business operations but also impacts employees on a personal level.
Through my informal studies, I noticed a strong connection between HR skills and those I had developed through my teacher training and work experience. Both areas require motivational and communication skills, adaptability, observational abilities, the capacity to connect with people from diverse cultural and social backgrounds, and the identification of training needs, among other similarities.
My involvement in management has led me to become more interested in HR than in continuing a teaching career. Initially, I decided to deepen my informal studies and seek employment in HR. However, I now recognize that formal advanced study is essential to acquire the skills and knowledge necessary for becoming a successful HR specialist.
I am fascinated by the complexity of human behavior. While studying in Paris, I worked as a server in restaurants and learned to assess customer satisfaction through non-verbal cues. This understanding of non-verbal communication has intrigued me ever since, and I have continued to develop and apply this skill in both teaching and management roles. I possess other qualities and experiences that will help me excel in the course and in my future career. In the context of a growing global economy, cultural sensitivity is crucial. I have traveled extensively, particularly in Europe and the Middle East, including extended stays in Paris and London. I am academically capable, intellectually curious, diligent, and eager to expand my HR knowledge.
I am particularly interested in researching motivational techniques and change management from an HR perspective. Although I am aware that many professionally qualified candidates will apply for the course, I believe I am an excellent candidate due to my deep interest in the subject and my commitment to working enthusiastically and diligently to excel in the program.
