Real Estate Certificate Personal Statement Editing Examples

For over a decade, I have maintained a conceptual continuity in my professional career as the founder and developer of my own real estate development company.  I have met my principal challenges so far and been able to take advantage of many valuable opportunities, but I want to give back something more to my community, on a greater scale, and increase my depth of understanding.  Entering into an academic relationship with XXXX is more than just a logical step, it is a natural choice given my scholastic and professional foundation that stretches some two decades.

 In terms of my academic interests, I am intent upon exploring a number of concepts in detail that will aid me in my entrepreneurial efforts; indeed, I have “been my own boss” for some twenty-four years, having owned two successful businesses.  My key areas of interest include site selection; land use analysis; due diligence/feasibility; concept land planning; entitlements and acquisition; developer, tenant/purchaser; and subcontractor negotiations, among other concepts.  While I have insights into these areas, I require the direction and polish that only XXXX’s benchmark setting faculty can provide.

 XXXX’s graduate Real Estate program will follow smoothly from my foundation earned from Boston University, which includes a certificate in Commercial Real Estate, Real Estate Development, finance, and markets.  I bring with me extensive real world experiences, as well, and hold real estate broker and unrestricted residential and commercial construction supervisor licenses from the State of XXXX. 

 Supplementing my experiences is my passion for and commitment to the community.  For me, if real estate development is to be truly effective and embraced, it must first connect with its community.  To this end, I have given hundreds of hours to Habitat for Humanity, as well as completing two Boston Marathons to support Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.  Moreover, in my work, I have striven to maintain not only an excellent professional rapport with colleagues, and agencies, but also with community and neighborhood groups.

 The path I have followed, in truth, made for my family, and I, is a tribute and example I mean to set for my pride, my adopted son.  My family is my inspiration, and my support system.  It is to them that I dedicate my career, and now my pursuit of the finest graduate education possible.

 No other field has, nor ever could, bring me the same level of personal or professional satisfaction as real estate development.  XXXX’s unsurpassed program coupled with a breadth and autonomy of curriculum no other school in the world could offer, are reassuring of the finest academic experience.  I am eager to share my own interdisciplinary and transsystemic experiences and learn from XXXX’s accomplished student body and faculty that literally set national standards for real estate education.
