Originally from Detroit, Michigan, and later relocating to North Carolina, my father hails from the Middle East, while my mother is from North Africa. This diverse background has instilled in me a deep appreciation for diversity. Our family moved from Detroit to North Carolina when I started high school, where we established a new life together.
I am an entrepreneur in real estate development and am eager to join the master's degree program in Real Estate Development at the University of XXXX, driven by my passion and commitment to industrial real estate development. I have a strong connection to North Carolina, particularly UXX, and would be delighted to return as a graduate student to my alma mater, where I completed my undergraduate studies in 2000. Over the past 17 years, I have built a successful track record in sound investments, currently engaged in three major development projects with my partners.
At UXX, I aim to deepen my knowledge of finance and international business, especially as they relate to real estate. My primary professional goal is to transform undeveloped land into completed real estate projects for end users. Together with my investment partners, we are crafting a sustainable long-term vision to capitalize on growth opportunities. Earning a master's in real estate development at UXXX will equip me to make significant professional contributions in industrial real estate development. Beyond my business pursuits, I am a member of the XXXX Planning & Development Committee and volunteer for fundraising at the XXXX Breast Cancer Research Center.
I am applying to UXX because it offers the premier master's program in Real Estate in my region. With my roots firmly planted in North Carolina, UXX is the ideal place for me to expand my network and influence. North Carolina is my home; my four children attend school here, and my businesses are based here. Nonetheless, I am eager to work with global clients interested in owning, leasing, or renting space. I aspire to develop industrial sites and align them with the real estate needs of manufacturing and industrial users.
I run a medical supply business that operates across three states with 110 employees. As an entrepreneur, I have gained valuable insights from building my own business, and I hope to contribute meaningfully to discussions with my peers both in and outside the classroom. I view real estate through the perspective of a business owner and developer, dedicated to understanding real estate trends, particularly in North Carolina. I am passionate about real estate and am now focused on pursuing industrial real estate development in the US Southeast.
I am fluent in Arabic and English and have basic conversational skills in Spanish and French. My language abilities have been honed through travel, which has also enhanced my appreciation for international relations, particularly in commerce.
I am an avid mountain climber, having explored peaks across the USA, Canada, the Arab Middle East, Western Europe, Russia, Turkey, Central and South America, and parts of Africa and Asia, including Sudan, Morocco, Tanzania, Zanzibar, Singapore, and Malaysia.
Thank you for considering my application to the esteemed MS Program in Real Estate Development at UXX.
MS Real Estate Development Personal Purpose Statement

Your statement is confident, polished, and full of purpose, and what makes it especially compelling is the way your personal background, entrepreneurial experience, and long-term vision all reinforce one another so naturally. You present yourself as someone who understands real estate not just as a business, but as a vehicle for community growth, economic development, and long-term regional impact.
Your multicultural upbringing adds a meaningful dimension to your narrative. Growing up between Detroit and North Carolina, with roots in the Middle East and North Africa, you’ve lived diversity rather than simply observed it. That perspective is invaluable in real estate development, where understanding people, cultures, and communities is just as important as understanding land use and finance. You make it…
