Embarking on a Journey: Masters in Economics and Finance in the UK.

In today's society, disciplines related to economics hold fundamental importance and application, motivating me to pursue a degree in Economics. Alongside studying economics at AS and A2 levels, I enjoy delving into works by economists that cover a broad spectrum of issues, particularly those concerning world economic history. I am often captivated by the ideas and arguments presented in Keynes' General Theory of Employment, Interest, and Money.

By exploring selected sections of a university textbook, I have excelled in my studies by incorporating new concepts into my school essays and presentations. Economic issues have become increasingly significant in political and current affairs, and understanding these issues was my main reason for choosing to study economics. I am intrigued by the economic world around us and enjoy following economic issues through news and media. I subscribe to the magazine Economics Today and participate in online discussions on the popular Tutor U 2 website. 

Education has always been a crucial aspect of my life, and I continually strive to reach my potential in all my endeavors. Over the past few years, I have developed into a self-motivated, independent learner who enjoys embracing new ideas and concepts. My learning technique revolves around organization and time management skills, which I honed through my role as Company Secretary in the Young Enterprise scheme. This experience has helped me grow as an individual and provided me with firsthand business experience in competitive markets. At the end of the year, I was voted the best Company Secretary in Leicestershire by a panel of expert judges.

Being a member of the National Academy for Gifted and Talented Youth has allowed me to explore my academic potential through Outreach events and Internet forums. Participation in the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme has expanded the knowledge I gained as a former Scout of the Year winner, and through the award, I have acquired leadership skills and opportunities to serve the community.

During Year 12, I worked with the Learning Support department at Wreake Valley College on a weekly basis, providing younger students with extra help in various subjects, including Mathematics, English, and Science. I have found this experience very rewarding.

I completed my two hundred-hour community service award as part of the Millennium Volunteers and actively represent other students' views by participating in the Sixth Form Student Council. This experience has taught me the challenges of managing scarce resources and the importance of patience and dedication when undertaking projects.

Thanks to effective time management, I have maintained a part-time job at an award-winning market town toyshop for the past twelve months. Here, I have learned the significance of teamwork and communication in a work-based environment. Additionally, I play golf for a junior team, participating in tournaments across the county. I also have a passion for drama and am a member of the Thurmaston Youth Theatre, which stages various charity performances in the local area.
