I was raised in a family that always encouraged us to fully utilize our natural talents, and I have excelled in every academic endeavor I have pursued. I adopted my parents' principles on how to conduct oneself in life: to be disciplined, persistent, and hardworking in everything you do. I have an inquisitive mind and enjoy challenges and mysteries. I decided to embrace the intellectual challenges that Computer Science presents and dedicate my life to this pursuit.
I am grateful to my father, my first role model, and my professors at my Teacher’s College for their tireless service to our community, giving back through education. Their inspirational examples sparked my passion for teaching. Several of my college professors completed their higher education outside of Saudi Arabia. I am turning to the quality educational institutions of Canada, a natural and logical choice for investing in my academic and professional future.
Since I was introduced to the basics of Computer Science, I have excelled in studying algorithms, programming languages, and data processing. By deepening my knowledge in Computer Science through active research and teaching assistantships or tutoring, I will be fully equipped to achieve my future goals, primarily completing a graduate program and laying the groundwork for my Ph.D. research. My aim is to secure a challenging position with a major institution or government organization in KSA, ideally King Abdullah University of Science and Technology.
I bring to the student body a strong foundation in Computer Science, a near-perfect GPA, and financial backing from the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Higher Education. More importantly, I have relevant experiences that will aid me in becoming a teacher. Teaching has been my dream and goal since high school. After completing a four-month teacher training course at my alma mater, I assisted my father, the head of a teaching center for talented students, during summer vacations, sharing my knowledge and enthusiasm for Computer Science with some of our community’s brightest students. My commitment to the community is further demonstrated by completing over twenty-five volunteer hours in Toronto, where I have lived for a year now. Training as a teacher and volunteering have made me increasingly optimistic about my future. I am convinced that anything is possible through hard work and determination.
Coming from Saudi Arabia and having traveled to five countries, I have a worldview that differs from my academic peers. Having been educated in KSA and living, working, and completing English education in Canada, I can interact effectively with many people, combined with my ability to speak two languages fluently. As a result, I can speak confidently in front of groups and am comfortable in my own skin. A future professor needs to interact effectively with people from different cultures. This is what I bring to the student body, where I anticipate many opportunities for group assignments, teamwork, and projects.
The prospect of receiving a quality Computer Science education is incredibly exciting to me. This is my field, where I feel fulfilled and aim to leave my mark. Thank you for your time and consideration.
