MS Geology Water Resources 1st Paragraph Statement of Purpose

Like most Americans, I grew up accepting that clean water is abundantly and permanently available. As my interest in Geology developed, I wondered at the sophisticated and complex means by which this literally vital asset is made available to us. When I became aware that many of the world’s population lack access to sufficient water or have access only to water that may carry disease, I made a decision that I would seek to acquire the skills and knowledge to enable me to do something to help those deprived of adequate supplies of clean water. It is my ultimate objective to obtain a leading role in a company or NGO concerned with finding and implementing solutions and to become an Associate Professor of Geology, sharing my knowledge and passion for this life-giving field of study and work with others.
